Shuiguo Hongqiao is the one Shanghai spa where we could confirm a night's stay you can buy in advance. Its overnight ticket includes breakfast and a capsule pod if one is free. The Qunar booking site sells it for $49 (¥329) Sunday to Thursday and $52 (¥349) on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays. The spa is a 5 to 8 minute walk from Hongqiao Railway Station.
Five more spas probably stay open all night, but their sources conflict or are thin, so phone or message ahead. The cheapest reported option is Linlinyu in Minhang, at $28 (¥188) with the night included.
Gokurakuyu Chuansha sits near Line 2, the line to Pudong International Airport. It works as an airport option only if its hotel confirms an overnight stay.
We checked every listing cited below on September 27, 2026. Dollars come first, with yuan in parentheses.

Which Shanghai spas are really open all night?
We sorted venues by how well their all-night hours are backed up. A venue is "confirmed" when a ticketing page sells an overnight product, or two independent 2026 sources agree it runs 24 hours. It is "probably" open when sources conflict, when only one source backs the hours, or when the overnight option belongs to a business next door.
Confirmed open all night
- Shuiguo Hongqiao: the Qunar ticketing page sells a named overnight ticket. A Weibo guide dated September 26, 2026, the Qunar page and a Dianping listing all give 688 Shenchang Road. An older 2024 listing gave 1010 Shenbin South Road.
Probably open all night
- Linlinyu: 2026 listings report it open 24 hours with the night included. Its Dianping page is behind a login, so no source we could open backs the hours.
- Yang SPACE: a 2023 first-person account describes an overnight package, and a current Dianping listing shows the spa still trading. We found no citable 2026 source for its hours.
- Gokurakuyu Chuansha: a bathhouse trading under the Gokurakuyu name. Two listings give its hours as 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and the overnight fee appears under the hot spring hotel at the same address.
- Shangmu Tangquan: one undated deal listing says 24 hours. A second Dianping listing under the same name, on Wubao Road, is marked closed. Make sure you are going to the open branch on Qixin Road.
- Tang Liande Baoshan: a self-published blog post on Sina, dated September 24, 2026, says 24 hours. A business listing for the same address says 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Not this kind of place
- Yasui Onsen (亚水·ONSEN), Pudong: a resort hotel with an onsen and guest rooms. Dianping users average about $211 (¥1,417) a person.
- Gokurakuyu Biyun, Pudong: the operator's own price page lists closing at 2:00 a.m., with last entry an hour earlier.
- Tang Liande's Changqing Road and 118 Plaza branches: close at 1:00 a.m. The same Sina post says that to stay later you must take one of their hotel rooms, about $75 to $119 (¥500 to ¥800) a night for two.
Gokurakuyu (極楽湯) is a Japanese bath chain that came to Shanghai in 2013 through local franchise partners. Its franchise record names the Biyun, Jinshajiang and Baoshan branches, not Chuansha.
How much does an overnight spa stay cost in Shanghai?
The one confirmed overnight ticket costs $49 to $52 (¥329 to ¥349) at Shuiguo Hongqiao, breakfast included. Our daily budget guide puts that next to the rest of a day in Shanghai.
- Shuiguo Hongqiao: $49 (¥329) Sunday to Thursday and $52 (¥349) on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays. The ticket bundles night entry, the overnight fee and a buffet breakfast. A day ticket is $44 (¥298), a Qunar deal price; the door price is not published. Entry includes unlimited fruit and drinks, a sauna, lounges, a reading room and a media room.
- Linlinyu: reported at $28 (¥188) in 2026 listings; we could not open Dianping's page to confirm. The same listings say the night costs nothing extra, with fruit and snacks in the bath area and drinks in the rest area.
- Yang SPACE: Dianping users report an average spend of about $50 (¥332) a person. That average includes extras, so read it as a guide to the bill. A 2023 account describes a buffet and à la carte dining.
- Gokurakuyu Chuansha: the baths, saunas and lockers have no entry price we could cite. The one price we found is the hotel's overnight charge, $7 (¥50) a person, 2–5 a.m., listed by the hotel on the same site.
- Shangmu Tangquan: $9 (¥58) from 2:00 to 6:00 a.m., with breakfast. A three-visit deal bundle cost $28 (¥188), and the single-visit price is not published. It has 11 thermal pools, Korean-style saunas, dining, an arcade, a kids' area and a Wi-Fi lounge.
- Tang Liande Baoshan: the chain charges about $28 to $34 (¥188 to ¥228) on weekdays and $39 to $44 (¥258 to ¥298) on weekends with the buffet. The Baoshan branch's own price is not published, and it adds $7 (¥50) from 2:00 to 5:00 a.m. It lists steam rooms from 86 to 167°F (30 to 75°C), a kids' area and VR.
Where a spa itself lists a fee for 2:00 to 5:00 a.m. (or 6:00 a.m. at Shangmu), it is a surcharge, 过夜费, added to your entry ticket if you are inside during those hours. Confirm the amount at the counter.
No venue lists a checkout time or a limit on the base ticket, so ask about those when you pay. Shuiguo's higher price covers holidays, which would include Golden Week, October 1 to 7. Our when not to go guide explains what that week does to crowds and prices.
How visitors can get the deal price
Chinese customers buy a 团购 voucher in the Meituan or Dianping mini-program inside WeChat, then show its QR code at the counter. Search for the venue by its Chinese name, listed under getting there below. Pay with WeChat Pay or Alipay.
We found no citable source confirming that a visitor's account can buy these vouchers. If yours cannot, pay at the counter.
Is a spa night cheaper than a budget hotel in Shanghai?
Sometimes. A self-published 2026 hotel-chain comparison posted on Sina puts the cheapest Jinjiang Inn branches in Shanghai at $28 (¥189) a night. Hanting and Home Inn run about $27 to $52 (¥180 to ¥350) on a normal night. In the People's Square and Nanjing Road area during the 2026 summer peak, they reached about $60 to $90 (¥400 to ¥600).
Shuiguo's overnight ticket, at $49 to $52 (¥329 to ¥349) with breakfast, sits at the top of the normal budget-hotel range. Linlinyu's reported price would match the cheapest Jinjiang Inn.
The hotel wins on privacy and a real bed. A room also lets two people split the price, and it handles your police registration. A spa night suits a solo traveler with a hotel on either side, a late arrival, or anyone with an early train.
Where do you sleep, and what is the night like?
A Weibo guide from September 21, 2026 describes the usual check-in at Shanghai bathhouses. You pay at the counter and get a wristband with an electronic lock. It opens your locker and runs a tab for food and extras. You change into the robe and slippers provided and settle the tab when you leave.
At Shuiguo Hongqiao, capsule rest pods go first come, first served, so a late arrival may end up on a lounger. Linlinyu is reported to have a rest area with free drinks.
A 2023 first-person account of Yang SPACE, on the Chinese site SMZDM, describes loungers, capsules, bunk-style "beehive" rooms and curtained tents. The writer slept well despite the open spaces and some foot traffic. They recommended earplugs and an eye mask for anyone in a shared hall. The layout may have changed since 2023.
We found no source giving the bath or rest-hall layout by gender for any venue here. Shuiguo's Weibo guide suggests asking the venue directly.
Do you need ID, and how do foreigners pay?
The September 21, 2026 Weibo guide says most Shanghai bathhouses do not ask for ID at the door. A phone number or a wristband is enough for general entry. Higher-end venues may ask for ID when you book a private room. The same guide says legitimate venues use individual electronic lockers and offer a front-desk safe for valuables.
Foreign visitors have one more rule to know. Article 39 of China's Exit and Entry Administration Law says a foreigner staying somewhere other than a hotel must register with the local police within 24 hours. A China Daily service page from January 23, 2026 notes that hotels do this for you at check-in. No source we found says whether a bathhouse counts as lodging, so the safe reading is that a spa night is not hotel registration.
The National Immigration Administration states that Article 76 of the same law sets the penalty when a foreigner or host fails to register. The penalty is a warning or a fine of up to $299 (¥2,000). A 2026 South China Morning Post report says visitors can now register online through the "NIA Service Platform 12367" app or its WeChat and Alipay mini-programs. This is a plain reading of published sources, not legal advice.
No venue source lists which payments it accepts. Set up WeChat Pay or Alipay before you go, and carry some cash.
How do you get there, and when do the trains stop?
Four venues are close to a metro station. Shuiguo Hongqiao is 5 to 8 minutes' walk from exit D of Hongqiao Railway Station, on Lines 2, 10 and 17. Linlinyu is near Hongxin Road on Line 12.
Tang Liande Baoshan is near Tonghe Xincun on Line 1. The walk is listed as about 820 feet (250 m) and a 7-minute walk south from exit 3, which do not agree; allow the longer time. Yang SPACE, at 57 Pudian Road, is near Pudian Road (Line 6), or Xiangcheng Road on Line 4; the two stations are a few minutes apart and do not connect.
Shangmu Tangquan's address is on Qixin Road, and Qixin Road station is the western end of Line 12. Gokurakuyu Chuansha is about 6 minutes by car from Chuansha station on Line 2, too far to walk comfortably.
Shanghai Metro publishes its first and last trains on its website as images. Check the Metro Daduhui app or the signs in your station on the day. If you will miss the last train, budget for a taxi.

- Yang SPACE: 57 Pudian Road, 2nd floor, Pudong (漾·SPACE汤泉生活（陆家嘴店）, 浦东新区浦电路57号2楼). Hours: a 2023 account describes overnight stays.
- Gokurakuyu Chuansha: Lane 7076, No. 2, Chuanzhou Road, Pudong (极乐汤川沙温泉馆, 浦东新区川周公路7076弄2号). Baths listed 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.; the hotel on site is open overnight and answers at +86 21 6782 2777.
- Shangmu Tangquan: 3588 Qixin Road, Building C, 3rd to 4th floor, Minhang (尚沐汤泉, 闵行区七莘路3588号罗莱生活广场C栋3-4F). One listing says 24 hours.
- Tang Liande Baoshan: 5288 Gonghexin Road, Baoshan (汤连得宝山店, 宝山区共和新路5288号). Listed as 24 hours in one source and 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in another.
Three phrases to show at the counter:
- 我想过夜 (wǒ xiǎng guòyè): I would like to stay overnight.
- 过夜费多少钱？ (guòyè fèi duōshao qián?): How much is the overnight fee?
- 几点必须离开？ (jǐ diǎn bìxū líkāi?): What time do I have to leave?
Which Shanghai spa should you pick?
- Arriving at or leaving from Hongqiao: Shuiguo Hongqiao, a short walk from the railway station, with breakfast in the overnight ticket. It is the one venue we could confirm.
- Landing late or flying early at Pudong Airport: Gokurakuyu Chuansha, if its hotel confirms an overnight stay. It is near Chuansha station on Line 2, then a short taxi ride.
- Lowest reported price: Linlinyu (price unconfirmed), with the night included.
- Staying near Lujiazui: Yang SPACE, near Pudian Road (Line 6). A 2023 account describes the widest choice of sleeping spots of any venue here.
- Families: Shangmu Tangquan or Tang Liande Baoshan, which both list kids' areas.
What should you bring for an overnight spa stay?
The same Weibo guide says Shanghai bathhouses generally supply robes, slippers and lockers, and the listings above mention food and drink at some. Bring these yourself:
- Earplugs and an eye mask, as the 2023 Yang SPACE account advised.
- A phone with WeChat Pay or Alipay set up, plus some cash.
- A phone charger, since payment and maps both run on your phone.
- Your passport, for a private room and for any police registration.
- The venue's Chinese name and address, to show a taxi driver.

Shuiguo Hongqiao is the safe choice: a published overnight ticket, a capsule if you arrive early, and breakfast, for $49 to $52. It is the only venue with an overnight ticket on sale through a ticketing site, and current listings agree on its address and phone. Skip Gokurakuyu Chuansha unless its hotel confirms an overnight stay.
